Newly Appointed SGA Delegate Handicap Chair
Paul Turner / SGA Delegate Handicap Chairman
Paul Turner has accepted a position with the SGA as Handicap Chairman. He left the Peel Regional Police in Canada and moved to the States in 1988. Since then, he has worked for the State of New York and is currently a Senior Investigator. He lives in Bristol with his lovely wife, Linda and has two sons living Canada near Niagara Falls. Through his association with the RDGA he has been active in the Rochester area golf community. He founded another golf club in 2005 and has been its handicap chairman since that time. I was introduced to Paul by the President of Rochester District Golf Association and Paul was instrumental in the SGA obtaining full club status. We became good friends and he joined the SGA last year. Paul is certified by the USGA as a handicap administrator. His passion for golf is evident by his commitment to learning and understanding the rules of golf, having attended rules and handicap seminars numerous times. He has competed in the World Amateur Handicap Championships in South Carolina several times and is planning to compete again this year. I am certain that Paul’s experience will benefit the SGA and hey you never know, he might fulfill a dream he and Ray Romano share, to break 80.
